And in another post that does just what it says on the tin…I finally get to reveal the cover for Untamed!
There’s nothing quite like seeing the single, fixed version of your book that will be going out into the world, creating certain feelings and expectations in readers before they even read the first word. It was a little confronting, but by the time the final version of the cover had been made I was head-over-heels in love with it. It shows something really true about the story.
In other exciting news, you can now pre-order Untamed. Currently the only site that has it up is Amazon, but I’ll post links to others as they appear. The official release date is still May 15th, but the vendors have it up as a May 10th release. This has something to do with making sure it’s available internationally by the release date, but might also mean you get to read it a couple of days early!
For those of you who are new to ebooks, here’s a quick run-down of how you can buy and read Untamed: If you own an e-reader, you can buy Untamed from the seller associated with your device (e.g. Amazon for Kindle, Barnes & Noble for Nook). As I said above, I’ll add links to more sellers as they become available. (I’ll add these to the Books page as well, so that it’s easily accessible.)
If you don’t own an e-reader, the easiest devices to read on are smart phones and tablets. There’s a free Kindle app that links to your Amazon account, or a free iBooks app that links to your iTunes account. (I find the Kindle reader way more eye-friendly than iBooks on a phone – haven’t compared on a tablet.)
If you don’t have a smart phone or tablet either, you can read off a computer screen. However, I don’t enjoy doing that at all, and won’t be surprised if you don’t either. There has been talk of a print edition in the future, so if you fall into this category you might choose to hold off buying the ebook.
And lastly, for any reviewers interested in reviewing Untamed, it is now up on NetGalley. Destiny will be approving requests, but don’t hesitate to contact me here, on twitter, or at words.anna@gmail.com if you have any problems obtaining a copy.
Oh, I am so very excited about this!
Beautiful cover – and I think the model looks rather like you, which is a pleasing touch!
(shall we have some sort of get-together to celebrate this? Or is your book launch online with the e-book?)
I’ve had a few people say she looks like me :-). Entirely by accident, but as you say, a nice little bonus. I’m not doing anything specific to launch it, so I reckon we could eat some cake in celebration!
Sounds like a plan! Would you like me to bake something, and would you like to invite anyone else? I’m free on the evening of the 10th or the 15th, so it’s up to you!

Very capital R Romantic. And they made a break with house style for YOUR BOOK. Pretty satisfactory all round. Great news too about the potential print edition. Enjoy your release day.
Thank you Shannon! Satisfactory is a good, calm word that sums everything up rather well :-).
Brilliant cover, Anna! What a thrill! Who says (people) don’t judge a book by its cover? Of course they do.
I also thought the cover heroine looks like you 🙂
Good luck with the sales. I can’t wait to read it 🙂
Thank you Serena! I can ignore a cover if I don’t like it, but it will always impact me in some way. I think that’s why it was a bit confronting to first see the cover concept – suddenly there was this whole new influence on the reader that had nothing to do with me or my writing! Now that I can see it as a wonderful book cover, though, I think it’ll only add to what will hopefully be a great reading experience.
Hi Anna
I’ve just got myself a copy for review from NetGalley, yay! I’m going to be reviewing for Writers’ Web. You need to get yourself on Goodreads too, if you can. Really looking forward to a read once I’ve got a couple of other reviews out of the way. And I agree, the cover model really does look like you, how lovely! 🙂

PS. We knew each other in a previous life – my mum was your teacher for ages! I’ve been enjoying reading your blog for a while and now I’m reviewing books regularly I thought it’d be nice to read yours. 🙂
Isn’t it amazing how people cycle back into your life! 🙂 Thanks for requesting Untamed. I really hope you enjoy it! It’s up on goodreads now: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17877553-untamed
